From The Old Smokehouse.Silver Great Taste Award winner 2005This is the finest wild Smoked Cumberland Salmon. Freshly caught in the river Eden, our local river, it is salted, brined and slowly smoked over oak which produces a wonderful flavour. Ready to eat.
The Eden flows over some carboniferous limestone, making it very rich in habitat and species biodiversity , as well as over sandstone and mudstone which is ideal for Salmon. It flows through beautiful meadows and woodlands with a large variety of wildlife.
Divine We buy the products at Orton Farmers Market. The Wild Salmon is divine and the smoked duck and chicken superb. Not used the website or visited the shop, but really must do so that we don't have to wait till the second Saturday of every month to partake in the delights of the smoked food.
