Gold Awards For Five Years In A Row
It is the fifth year in a row that we have been awarded a Gold Award.
The Old Smokehouse also scooped two silvers and a bronze in the tastings run by the Guild of Fine Food Retailers and described as the Oscars of the fine food industry.
As Richard says: It is good to win gold five years in a row. Not many have done that and it was much tougher this year.
This year 4,500 food products were entered and judged by industry experts at food gatherings in Dublin, Edinburgh, Harrogate and London.
We won awards for our Smoked Duck Breasts - Gold, Smoked Tuna - Silver, Smoked Garlic and Stilton Sausage - Silver and Smoked Pork and Stilton Sausage - Bronze.
We were particularly pleased with the awards for our sausages which form part of of a new range of "Speciality Sausages" which we are developing and launching soon. Having the endorsement of the Guild of Fine Food retailers will certainly help with the launch.
All the new recipe sausages will be on sale on our website as we develop them and available for national distribution soon after.
